I do not think the DA would endorse Bernie because the leadership wouldn't want Bernie. Yet in LA their DA did endorse Bernie. The leadership in LA did an education campaign, clearly leading to Bernie. But that doesn't mean it was not democratic. No one put a gun to voters' heads. Yet they did not do a referendum of all members which would have been divisive as I'm sure there are some people who support other candidates. In the UFT they gave Biden an advantage by having him be the main speaker at their recent big conference. If it were Bernie instead I bet he would have rocked the house. It is interesting how the right doesn't really go after Bernie like it does others because I think even Trump people who like him for his being different also like Bernie for his standing against the Dem party for so long.<br />ed notes onlinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15018047869059226777noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33431390.post-27405295114438261802019-11-21T16:19:51.712-05:002019-11-21T16:19:51.712-05:00I find the resolution interesting. Since UTLA'...I find the resolution interesting. Since UTLA's endorsement of Bernie is offered as a beacon of what to do, why doesn't it call on the UFT to do what UTLA did, and have what is their equivalent of the delegate assembly make the decision to endorse? And it is suggesting that the UFT do what UTLA did, and only offer members a 'choice' with over one candidate? Would it be okay to have a vote in which Biden was the only candidate on the ballot? If what UTLA's process was democratic, one would think that it should be copied. Instead, all of these seems to be outcome driven -- whatever process will end in a Bernie endorsement.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
