EDUCATE! ORGANIZE!! MOBILIZE!!!
Three pillars of The Resistance – providing information on current ed issues, organizing activities around fighting for public education in NYC and beyond and exposing the motives behind the education deformers. We link up with bands of resisters. Nothing will change unless WE ALL GET INVOLVED IN THE STRUGGLE!
Fortunately, NYC's citizens now have recourse if they don't like the job their chancellor is doing - they can elect a different mayor. That's the beauty of mayoral control - real accountability. And the public obviously likes the job Klein has done, with Bloomberg running a 70+% approval rating.
Perhaps Bloomberg enjoys a high approval rating, but it is not shared by Joel Klein. A Quinnipiac poll from May 2007 indicated that Klein had only a 37% approval rating at that point in time. I seriously doubt it has improved much since then.
And they will elect a different mayor this year. After that, watch how popular BloomKlein are. You seem to be a bit sensitive about your political guru. Think the cartoon is referring to Bloomie?
