New Action: Creates Imaginary 2009 Caucus named MORE and Predicts the Future

MORE: failed to oppose Bloomberg in 2009, and will not support a candidate in this year’s race – New Action ad.
May 2012: MORE officially founded and named as a caucus. And MORE has not even addressed the issue of endorsing a mayoral candidate but when it does it will be at an open meeting and democratically decided, unlike both Unity and New Action (do they actually hold meetings?).

Next New Action will be claiming MORE walks around with an imaginary 6 foot rabbit.

  1. MORE was around in 2008 and caused the financial meltdown.
Julie and Kit were in the House of Representatives and repealed the Glass Stegall Act!!!!

Can we call for straightjackets for NA?

  2. To be sure, the borderline fiction in JHs blog post was inexcusable, but can we, at some point, talk about how little a caucus endorsement for mayor matters when the task in front of us is how to bring about improved working conditions for us and our colleagues?

    1. Of course you are right. MORE will have this discussion in an open and democratic manner while New Action won't. They are only interested in "positioning" themselves for election campaigns every 3 years. That is the sum total of their so-called "actions." They only play an inside game at the Ex Bd and rarely at the DA. The Ex Bd is all Unity and the 10 of them. So they spout some stuff into the wind and then brag about it. The fact that they push Thompson who was pres of the old Bd of Ed which was also awful and now supports mayoral control while they claim to oppose mayoral control is a sign of what they are all about.

  3. It may be true you did not exist. But that does not mean anything. We do not appreciate it when you defend yourselves. We never hear things like that at caucus meetings and are unprepared for it, so please start playing fair. What about the issue of the candidates on your slate whose names I don't know who may or may not have done bad things? When are you going to start talking about that and stop fact-checking our statements? This is the way things should be done. Please get with the program.

    1. Sorry RL. I forgot. I'm not sure we exist now. I think I am imagining running in the election.

    2. A brilliant New Action blogger wrote that MORE was a bunch of the same old loser jerks who were always opposition. Then he wrote that New Action wanted to partner up with these loser jerks for some reason, but that MORE refused.

This is the kind of logic we appreciate, since if we win, we win, and if New Action wins, we win. The only bad outcome is if you win and we don't win, so please start spreading nasty rumors about yourselves. We at New Action and Unity are unaccustomed to taking part in discussions that have more than one side. This is why we refuse to debate, to tell you the truth. But don't expect me to keep doing that. I have a reputation to protect.

    3. Jonathan is lying. I was at that meeting in November and as I recall, aside from some superficial items, there was never any really any common ground between us. NA's support for Mulgrew in the elections was a non starter. What more was there to talk about after that?

He did spend some time complaining about Ed Notes. Gee, I wonder why.

    5. Someone from New Action is begging ed notes to post that people should friend Jonathan on facebook to get the truth. And we've seen such truth up to now. Jonathan banned me from commenting on his blog many years ago. I used to sort of respect the guy.
I predicted when the MORE's went off to meet that one of New Action's major goals at the meeting was to get the MOREs to pressure me to not attack New Action.
I know that MORE people never wanted to be vicious like I am so until New Action overreacted to the mild MORE points with open attacks on MORE no one would have noticed.
When I tried to tell the MOREs that New Action is as much an enemy if not worse than Unity I found I was not making headway. There were "personal" relationships. Now Jonathan has done the job for me. I will try to get MORE to open up a 3 year info campaign on New Action so that in the next election every UFT member knows exactly what they are.

Leo Casey used to do that by telling people "how can you hang out with that lunatic?" I can't say why they did. I'm hanging with my new pal "raving lunatic."
