How the Hillary Clinton campaign deliberately “elevated” Donald Trump with its “pied piper” strategy - Salon.com

Sanders, a self-described Democratic socialist, repeatedly warned in the primary that he would have a greater chance of defeating Trump. Poll after poll showed that he would have beaten Trump in the general election by wide margins. Instead, his candidacy was repressed — and now Clinton has lost to Trump.
Michael Fiorillo: How did they blow this election? Let us count the ways... A highly flawed and weak candidate, carried along by a complacent, self-serving, out-of-touch bunch of "meritocrats", and a media chorus...

  1. The democrats underestimated the rage-against-the-establishment vote. Trump tapped into that rage. Bernie tapped into that rage and we know how the Democratic Party treated Bernie. The democrats have no one to blame but themselves. They should have presented us with a better candidate than Hillary Clinton. Enough of us were no longer willing to hold our nose and vote for her. Blue counties in the rust belt turned red because they saw no hope for their future in Hillary Clinton. I won't argue that my future or the futures of those in the rust belt will improve with a Trump White House and a republican house and senate but I will argue that the politically savvy should have seen the extent of the rage and accepted the fact that enough of us were going to be willing to pull the lever for Trump despite what may come because the depth of our hatred for the establishment is pretty frickin deep. The politically savvy also should have recognized the apathy democratic leaning voters had for the outcome of the election. Yesterday at work a teacher said to me, "I woke up, saw the results and really didn't care because my life as a teacher has gotten worse since Obama took office so what difference does any of it make." This teacher didn't vote for Trump or Hillary because she was aware of the republican education agenda but also recognized she'd been screwed by the democrats with respect to education issues. The democrats can't keep spitting in the faces of working and middle class taxpayers and expect us to turn out the vote for them simply because they argue the other guy is a monster. It's not a winning argument for people who feel disrespected and abandoned. What thrilled me yesterday was not the Trump win-- it was the Clinton loss. Roseanne McCosh

  2. Put it this way, our country can be no worse with Trump in office because the Obama presidency has been an anti hate america presidency for 8 years and you can see the remnants of his presidency all over our country. For example, google the state of Michigan and look for cities that currently are ruled under muslim sharia law!! Slowly Obama was turning this country over. Take a look at our public schools...Obama single handily destroyed our public schools by being the devil behind the curtain and leashing arnie duncan to do his dirty work.

  3. Mulgrew, Weingarten and the Democratic Party have thrown us under the bus. They have not learned from their spectacular defeat.

  4. Just read the NYSUT letter/email at ICEUFT Blog. The president used your slogan-educate, organize, mobilize!
