Paul Tudor Jones, Hedge Funds, Charter Schools, and the IDC

UPDATED: See NYC Educator: UFT High School Reps Letter to Leadership on Opposing IDC
Are IDC candidates and charters proud to be associated with guys like Paul Tudor Jones who supports sexual predator Harvey Weinstein? Student First Jennie Sedlis, say something.

Leonie Haimson reports:
Paul Tudor Jones, billionaire hedge funder and so far the the sole donor to ParentsVote PAC, (which is contributing to Alcantara and Jesse Hamilton campaigns and administered by Students First NY, started by Michelle Rhee and now headed by Jenny Sedlis, who calls herself co-founder of Success Academy charter schools ) also heads the pro-charter and extremely well-funded Robin Hood Foundation.
Jones was also on Harvey Weinstein’s board, , and supported Weinstein staying in power nearly to the bitter end, discouraging the board from firing him even after the NYT article came out.

Jones also said this in 2013:

Subject: Hedge Funds, Charter Schools, and the IDC

Politico's Bill Mahoney reveals that "The first super PAC spending in this fall's elections comes in the form of charter school supporters backing the IDC."

Campaign filings show $20,000 in spending from the "Parents Vote" PAC on behalf of turncoat IDC Senators Marisol Alcantara and Jesse Hamilton.
Parents Vote PAC is nothing like it sounds. It's sole contributor is Paul Tudor Jones, a hedge fund manager from Connecticut (not a New Yorker!), who pumped $150k into this anti-public education PAC earlier this year.
Charter schools educate the few, not the many. They take away dollars and resources away from our children and are supported by hedge funders who oppose public education.

It's no wonder charter schools are such big supporters of the IDC, eight politicians elected as Democrats who helped give Republicans a Senate majority in exchange for money, power and perks.
Taeka, FIGHT BACK. Will you contribute $3 today to support our anti - IDC candidates and turn New York into a True Blue State?

Public schools in NY state are owed 4.3 billion dollars from Albany. And for the past 7 years, the IDC has continually blocked progressive legislation like funding our public schools with the backing of special interest cash.

It's time to vote the IDC out and vote True Blue Democrats in.

With just over 6 weeks left until election day, candidates like Alessandra Biaggi, Robert Jackson, and Jessica Ramos who are running against IDC members need our help in this crucial moment to push back against the IDC.
Please contribute $3 today to help defeat the IDC.

Thank you for all that you do,
In solidarity,
Taeka
