I'm Going to SOS on UFT Bus Friday July 8

I swore I wasn't going to do this - leave Rockaway twice in July - the AFT convention is July 18  - but given the UFT bus is going and coming the same day I am going to do this and catch it at 6:30 AM - oy!. I will miss the Sat and Sun stuff but that is OK. I can be back at the beach by late Friday night.

There's plenty of room on the bus if you want to join us. Yelena Siwinski is handling reservations.

A free bus will leave from 335 Adams St., Brooklyn (near the subway entrances at Jay St. & Boro Hall)  at 6:00 AM and return after the march.  Teachers, students, families, & community members are encouraged to join us.  Riders should also get breakfast, a bag lunch, and water.  To sign up email ysiwinski@uft.org.  Give the names and cell phone numbers of those in your party.

People's March for Public Education & Social Justice
July 8-10th

We are a little more than 1 week away from the 2016 SOS Coalition People's March for Public Education & Social Justice!  We are so excited to hear and learn from the amazing educators, parents, and activists who are coming to the march & rally and the conference to share their stories about the struggle to save public education. Here some of their stories here!

We Need Your Help!
We are raising money to bring parents and youth from New Jersey (Newark/Camden), Philadelphia, Chicago, Massachusetts, and Detroit to event.  We need your help to get them there! Your donation will help sponsor buses, housing, and conference registration for the families most impacted by the attack on public education and community. You can help be making a tax-deductible donation to Save Our Schools March or through our GoFundMe campaign. Help us raise $5000 by July 4th!
