Newark: Will there be a mass sick-out next week?

Lucky these jokers are not in charge of an Ebola infected nation.

Subject: Possible NTU Action

Good Afternoon,

It has come to our attention,  that a faction of the NTU membership is planning and encouraging teachers and other employees to engage in a mass sick out next week.  This is a reminder that such tactics will be in violation of the NPS/NTU Contract and is not protected activity.

Please be further reminded that the District considers a mass sick out as a partial strike.  Public employees do not have a right to strike in New Jersey.

Any employee who participates in the sick out will face disciplinary action.

Sincerely,

Vanessa Rodriguez,
Chief Talent Officer

The Anderson administration seeks to control the restless teacher inmates through threats and intimidation. How would a job action in Newark look for presidential hopeful Christie? The NTU has not informed the rank and file of an impending sick out. Is Talent Officer Rodriguez organizing it? What would constitute appropriate disciplinary action in this instance? How would she be able to determine if the subjects were really sick? Are the colonizers becoming uneasy? It must be stressful to maintain the necessary levels of bullying over long periods of time.
