All OK with Us

In Brooklyn for a few hours. Thanks for all your concerns. We stuck it out and water came within an inch of our main level -- flooded basement, den, garage and laundry room but we and cats are ok. Both cars shot.

Our end on the bay side did not do badly considering the bay met the ocean over the sea wall so that every house was surrounded by 5 or more feet of ocean water -- truly part of the sea. Beach side devastated I hear with some houses totally gone.

No power or cell service -- I had more connectivity in New Zealand and Portugal. Lots of cleanup to do so I will not be on very often until we get it all straightened out -- need new cars, heating system, etc.

Keep up the fight.

I am so sorry to hear this, Norm. I was thinking about you while all this was going - especially after hearing about Breezy Point. I was hoping you were faring better in Belle Harbor.

My thoughts are with you, my friend.

Glad you're okay. As nice as the photo of your sandbags in front of your garage was, it added to the concern once we knew the reality of this storms devastation. Take care.

Norm, tried ringing you yesterday, no answer. Glad you're reporting through the blog. What a misery. No power up here yet, but nothing like what you're going through. If the heating situation doesn't resolve before it gets cold, my place would be inconvenient for you but feel free to Occupy if you need to. Cats, too.

Globalization is not a new idea, and when used in its economic connotation, it refers to the removal of trade barriers amongst nations to improve and increase the flow of goods across the world. But in this article, we are going to look at the implications of globalization on education and the educators themselves.

Just want to let you know that my thoughts are with you and your family during these tough times. I spent many a summer down in the Rockaways and it is so sad to look at the pictures. -- Anna DellOlio
